Watford Open 2014

The Watford Open was the first competition of the year for SKF Bromley. We took a Squad of 6 fighters up to fight in both Points Fighting and Light Continuous. The objective for this competition was to get students on to the mat and back into that competition environment. With this in mind the day was a resounding success with all fighters not only fighting, but also enjoying themselves and some even placing. Both Linda Brown and Massimo Blair came away with 3rd place in their respective light continuous division. Other Students including Adam Brown and Oliver Gunner were actually competing for the first time and showed great spirit in their fights, gaining valuable experience. Myself (Az Miralay) and Brittannie Noon both came to this competition simply to face some demons and get back into competition. We both lost our battles, but we won the war. The thirst is well and truly back for all of us and we are looking forward to the future. Also a big shout out to Alan Goldwater and Glen Harvey for coming down to show their support. Not to mention the SKF Wolf Pack who came in full force! Next stop the MAASIF Warriors Open Challenge. Watch this space!
